Parental Concerns
Parents in Albuquerque are raising concerns about the use of these tools, with one parent stating, “I want them to slow down, gather more public input, and get explicit consent from parents.”
Santa Fe and Los Alamos public schools have decided not to use Amira at this time. Meanwhile, Belen Consolidated Schools has introduced a different AI platform called “Magic School AI,” which personalizes learning for each student and grades their work. Parents in Belen have the option to opt their children out of using the platform.
