The State of New Mexico, in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) and the New Mexico Department of Transportation, has deployed sandbag distribution sites throughout the state. Residents can pick up sandbags and use on‑site filling machines to protect homes from flood damage as the monsoon season intensifies.

All Rio Rancho city fire stations hold empty sandbags for pickup from 8 a.m.‑8 p.m. Residents may take up to ten bags per household; sand must be sourced separately.
Sierra County

Guidelines and assistance
Residents are asked to fill bags only about half full and may take a maximum of 30 sandbags per household where supplies last. A SandBagger machine is available at each site to speed filling. Those needing help can request assistance from Community Organizations Active in Disaster, which evaluates cases individually.
