Investigators are following new leads in Melissa Montoya’s disappearance 25 years after she vanished, as her family and attorney continue pressing for answers. The leads surfaced last year after continued reporting on the case and focus on people who were with Montoya the night she disappeared.
According to the family attorney, Darlene Gomez, key witnesses believe Montoya was pressured into leaving the bar that night with her ex-boyfriend. Another search connected to the case is expected in the future.
Gomez urged anyone with information to come forward. “If you know something, say something. It’s been 25 years,” Gomez said. “She’s lost her parents. She has siblings that need to know, and she has a community that loves her.”
