A Purple Alert has been issued by Connecticut State Police for a missing New Haven man, Derrick Hirscht, 50. Hirscht was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, white headphones, a blue polo shirt with white stripes, black shorts, and black shoes.
He is described as a white male, approximately 5’9″ weighing 200 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes. According to his family, Hirscht walked away from his group home on Wednesday, June 10, and has not been seen or heard from since.
A Purple Alert is an emergency notification system designed to locate missing adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, brain injuries, or cognitive conditions that are not related to substance abuse.
