New Haven Aldermanic Affairs Committee to Discuss Key Appointments

The Aldermanic Affairs Committee of the New Haven Board of Alders is scheduled to convene on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in person at the Board of Alders Chamber, located at 165 Church Street, 2nd Floor, New Haven, Connecticut. The committee will deliberate on a series of appointments and reappointments to various city commissions and boards, which play a crucial role in local governance and community services.

Key Appointments on the Agenda

The agenda includes the approval of several new appointments. Jennifer Reyes Lin is set to join the Commission on Aging, while Wendy Mongillo is nominated for the City Plan Commission as a regular member. Eugene Jones Jr. is proposed for the Civil Service Board, and both Myla Generette and Aneetrai Rowland are slated for the Commission on Disabilities.

Additionally, Ivery Tanner is up for appointment to the Fair Rent Commission, and Vincent Mauro Jr. is nominated for the Board of Fire Commissioners. Nina Fawcett is set for reappointment to the Civilian Review Board as the Newhallville/East Rock representative. The Commission on Disabilities may see the return of Robert Berriault, Carmen Correa Rios, and Beverly Kidder. David Caruso and Dondre Roberts are proposed for reappointment to the Fair Rent Commission.

Other reappointments include Heather Reynolds to the Lead Poisoning Advisory Committee as a healthcare provider, Mary Ann Moran to the Commission on Parks, Programs, and Recreational Facilities, and Manuel Camacho and Joanne Wilcox to the Peace Commission. Nicholas Fabiani is up for reappointment to the Port Authority Board of Commissioners, and David Cantonwine is proposed for the Board of Public Health. Lastly, Jaime McPhail-Myers is nominated for reappointment to the Affordable Housing Commission.
