Whimsical Cookie, a popular gourmet cookie shop in New Albany, has gained popularity despite being hard to find. The shop, located at 37 Bank Street, Suite 11, was forced to take down its signs directing people to the store by the City of New Albany.

A Hidden Gem

Owner Amanda McMonigle feared the worst when the signs were taken down, but she took to social media to make light of the situation with the hashtag ‘hidden cookie shop.’ The move paid off, and the shop has seen an increase in customers, with sales going from 125 cookies per week to 800 cookies per week.

Whimsical Cookie is open to walk-ins on Friday and Saturday, and by appointment on other days. The shop offers a variety of cookies, including custom-made cookies with pictures or logos. The shop’s edible food printer, Eddie, can print any image or logo onto a cookie, making it a great option for special occasions such as Father’s Day or anniversaries.
