NBCUniversal on Thursday named outsider Christopher Halpin as its next finance chief as it prepares to separate from Comcast’s cable and broadband business into a standalone public company.
Background
Halpin will join the company from People Incorporated, formerly IAC, where he served as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Before that, he spent nearly a decade at the National Football League, most recently leading digital, sports betting, data and international expansion.
NBCUniversal’s current CFO Randy Culbertson will move into a new role at the company, to be announced in the coming weeks. Halpin will report to Mike Cavanagh, Comcast’s co-CEO, who is set to become NBCUniversal’s chief executive once the split is complete.
