Federal safety officials have announced four separate recalls involving children’s products sold nationwide, citing hazards that include choking, suffocation, falls, and serious injury risks.
Recalled Products
The recalls, announced June 18 by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, affect more than 78,000 products sold online and in retail stores across the United States.
The largest recall involves approximately 70,410 GOPO TOYS Pull String Teething Toys. According to the recall notice, the silicone strings on the toys are longer and smaller than allowed under mandatory federal toy safety standards. Officials said the strings can reach the back of a child’s throat and become lodged, creating a risk of respiratory distress and potentially deadly choking.
Consumers should immediately stop using the toys, remove them from children, and contact GOPO Toys for a full refund.
About 2,355 CooCooBaby Baby Loungers have also been recalled because they fail to meet federal safety requirements for infant sleep products. The recall affects both the Classic and Deluxe versions of the loungers.
Officials said the products pose multiple hazards, including suffocation risks from overly thick sleeping pads, sides that are too short to properly secure infants, and openings that could allow infants to fall out or become trapped. The products also lack a stand, creating an additional fall hazard.
No injuries have been reported.
Joolz USA has recalled approximately 3,840 Aer2 Car Seat Adapters designed for use with Joolz Aer2 strollers. The adapters can fail to properly attach to the stroller, potentially causing an attached infant car seat to detach and fall.
A separate recall affects approximately 2,200 BABESIDE Doll and Stroller playsets sold on Amazon. The recall involves a toy pacifier and a plush bear included in the playset. Officials said the pacifier violates federal small-parts regulations for products intended for children under age 3 and poses a choking hazard. The eyes on the plush bear can also detach, creating an additional choking risk.
Consumers are being instructed to immediately remove the pacifier and plush bear from children’s reach and contact HYBDOLLS for free replacement accessories.
Federal safety officials urge parents and caregivers to stop using recalled products immediately and follow the manufacturers’ instructions for refunds or replacements.
