The National Farmers Union Foundation has announced the recipients of its 2026 annual scholarship awards. Cadence Konechne, a South Dakota Farmers Union member and Notre Dame student, received the Hubert K. & JoAnn Seymour Scholarship, a $2,000 award given in honor of the Seymours’ dedication to Farmers Union and family farming.
Other Recipients
Beau Milton of Montana Farmers Union and Ruby Sheaffer of Wisconsin Farmers Union each received a Stanley Moore Scholarship, a $1,500 award named for the visionary leader who served as National Farmers Union vice president for eight years. Mary Oluyemi and Jakari Brown were each awarded a Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) Scholarship, a $1,500 award given to MANRRS members as part of the National Farmers Union’s and MANRRS’ memorandum of understanding.
National Farmers Union President Rob Larew stated, ‘NFU is deeply committed to fostering the next generation of advocates and providing resources to ensure their success. The future of family agriculture depends on strong community ties. NFU continues to champion those values and help overcome barriers to education.’
