The American Red Cross has declared a national blood supply crisis for the second time in its history. According to the organization, some patients are having to wait for blood transfusions. Scott Marder, the Regional Communications Manager for the American Red Cross in Baltimore, said they have less than one day’s supply of O positive blood. That’s critical because O positive is the most common and is compatible with all positive blood types.
