NASCAR has partnered with the iconic rock band, the Rolling Stones, on a music video and merchandise collection. The collaboration features three of NASCAR’s youngest drivers: Connor Zilisch, Carson Hocevar, and Jesse Love.
Music Video and Merchandise
The music video, set to the Rolling Stones’ new single ‘In The Stars,’ showcases the drivers as a touring rock band. The video features the drivers clowning around during a photo shoot, playing cards on a tour bus, and stopping at a bar.
The partnership also includes a merchandise collection featuring the Rolling Stones’ tongue and lips logo, along with two NASCAR-themed vinyl editions of the band’s new album, ‘Foreign Tongues.’ Megan Malayter, vice president of licensing and consumer products for NASCAR, said the organization was approached by representatives of the band about working together.
‘The Rolling Stones, they’re iconic, they’ve been around since 1962, and so they appeal to that generation that was there, but they have just such history, folklore, and nostalgia around them that they appeal to the younger audiences of today,’ Malayter said.
NASCAR’s Young Drivers
Zilisch, 19, Love, 21, and Hocevar, 23, are three of NASCAR’s youngest drivers. They were chosen for the collaboration due to their ‘great personalities, very rebellious spirits and they kind of have a rock and roll nature about them,’ according to Malayter.
The drivers had a blast filming the music video. ‘It was cool. It was fun,’ Hocevar said. ‘Yeah, just nice to kind of let loose, I guess, on a video.’ Zilisch described himself as a huge music fan and said filming the video was a memorable experience.
