NASA is making progress on its moon base, with plans for human operations in the next 20 years. The agency’s plan to build a moon base is already underway, with Phase I focusing on deploying scientific instruments, testing new technologies, and assembling infrastructure.
Moon Base Progress
Commercial partners, including Blue Origin and Northrop Grumman, will help deliver more than 20 lunar landers. Rovers will begin work near the moon’s south pole to create a sustainable base. Research Chemist Ken Kremer said, ‘Gradually as the moon base builds out, there will be longer, and eventually permanent stays.’ NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman announced the ambitious plan in March, and the agency recently released a video unveiling the latest progress.
