A Muscatine police officer was shot during a chase Friday evening, and the suspect involved is still on the run, according to authorities.
The incident began around 5:30 p.m., when officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect following a vehicle pursuit and foot pursuit in the 1400 block of Grandview. Police said the officer who was hit is injured but in stable condition.
The suspect, identified as Mark Lee Jackson, is still at large. Authorities are asking people in the area to lock their doors and shelter in place.
