Missouri State University’s football team has secured 24 commits for the Class of 2027, with a focus on in-state recruits. The team, led by head coach Casey Woods, has been actively recruiting in Missouri, visiting over 300 high schools in the state.
Local Recruiting Emphasis
Woods has emphasized the importance of recruiting local talent, stating that ‘high school recruiting is basically our NFL Draft, and the portal is free agency.’ The team has secured commits from eight in-state recruits, including decorated three-star quarterback Adam McKnight from Nixa.
The team’s recruiting efforts have also extended to neighboring states, with commits from Arkansas, Tennessee, Indiana, and Oklahoma. Woods and his staff have leveraged their connections in Texas, securing three three-star recruits from the state.
Recruiting Wins
One of the team’s notable recruiting wins is three-star defensive end Andrew Oldham from Marquette High School in the St. Louis area. Oldham, who was also recruited by Power 4 football programs, chose MSU due to the team’s diligence and the opportunity to play baseball.
The team’s Class of 2027 is currently ranked No. 108 out of 138 FBS programs by Rivals/On3, and No. 3 among Conference USA members. With the recruiting season still ongoing, MSU is looking to build on its momentum and secure more commits for the upcoming season.
