A motorcycle rider involved in a possible road rage confrontation with a driver was shot in the back Sunday night in Saugus, a community north of Los Angeles.
Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded at about 10:30 p.m. to the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and Seco Canyon Road.
The initial report came in as an assault with a deadly weapon call involving a gunshot victim. Deputies located the motorcycle rider, who was shot one time in the back, authorities said.
The man was hospitalized, but details about his condition Monday were not immediately available. Witnesses said a dark-colored sedan with an unknown number of occupants had been driving erratically and attempting to strike the victim, the sheriff’s department said.
Multiple shots were fired moments later, the witnesses told investigators. No arrests were reported.
The sheriff’s department asked anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting to contact investigators.
