The hearing allowed residents to speak for or against the proposed plan, which includes $200 million for expanding the downtown convention center, $45 million for a new sports complex and amphitheater, $15 million for housing infrastructure, $50 million for facility enhancements, and $40 million for neighborhood projects.

Some residents expressed concerns that crime and safety issues in the city have not been addressed first. All three agenda items related to the bond will return at the next city council meeting, which is in two weeks.
