A dramatic attempt to outrun police by a 26-year-old Missouri man ended in his arrest after he dove headfirst off a bridge into Table Rock Lake. Gavin Thor Lundgren, of Kimberling City, was caught on video sprinting across a two-lane bridge before launching himself into the waters below.
According to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Lundgren led deputies on a chase during the early morning hours of July 18 after being spotted traveling nearly 75 mph in a 45-mph zone. Instead of pulling over, Lundgren abandoned his still-moving car and dove off the bridge.
Lundgren was charged with three counts of third-degree assault on a special victim, resisting arrest for a felony, resisting arrest by fleeing, and careless driving. Three deputies were injured while taking Lundgren into custody, with Lundgren headbutting two of them during the struggle.
