Long‑time Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) star Mickie James is set to make a special appearance at the promotion’s biggest show of the year, Bound for Glory, on Sunday, Oct. 11. The event will be held at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
James’ comeback highlighted on Impact
During Thursday’s episode of Impact, TNA aired a vignette that teased James’ return. The video showed an older TNA logo on a crate; when the crate opened, a beam of light revealed a white cowgirl hat and denim jacket, which James placed on her head as her “Hardcore Country” entrance theme blared.
James’ storied TNA career
James first joined TNA in 2002, then under the National Wrestling Alliance banner, and spent about a year before moving to WWE. She returned in 2010, quickly entering a feud with Madison Rayne and capturing the TNA Knockouts Championship in April 2011. That victory made her the first woman in professional wrestling history to hold the TNA Knockouts, WWE Women’s, and WWE Divas championships. She has since become a five‑time Knockouts champion and was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame last year.
Bound for Glory card highlights
The Oct. 11 show will feature four championship contests. A six‑way scramble for the vacant TNA X Division Championship will include Fabian Aichner, KC Navarro, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Ryan Nemeth and BDE. The Knockouts Championship will see Xia Brookside defend against Indi Hartwell. The TNA International Championship will be contested in a four‑way match among Mustafa Ali, Jason Hotch, John Skyler and Special Agent Zero. Nic Nemeth will defend the TNA World Championship against Leon Slater.
Additional matchups include Ricky Sosa versus Eddie Edwards, a Falls Count Anywhere bout pitting Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw against The Hardys, and a Call Your Shot Gauntlet that grants the winner a future title opportunity.
Fans can expect a weekend packed with high‑octane wrestling action, and James’ appearance adds a nostalgic touch for longtime supporters of the promotion.
