Michael Rapaport Declares Lindsay Hubbard Overrated, Ignites Reality TV War

Michael Rapaport and Lindsay Hubbard tangled this week after Rapaport labeled the “Summer House” star “overrated,” sparking a social media back-and-forth that pulled in Rapaport’s wife Kebe Dunn and touched on Hubbard’s past with fiancé Carl Radke. The exchanges played out across Instagram videos, with Rapaport pushing his hot takes and Hubbard firing back about age and parenting. The clash mixed reality TV critique, personal digs and a little performative outrage that drew plenty of online attention.

Rapaport opened the conversation with a blunt Instagram video, setting the tone from the first line: “This is a hot take on Lindsay Hubbard and ‘Summer House,’” he said, doubling down on his intent to speak despite potential pushback. He added, “I was advised not to even speak on this as a straight, cis, White male. However, I can’t be silenced. I won’t be silenced.” That framing immediately made the clip about more than a reality show opinion and invited reaction.

He moved into the specifics of his critique with a mixture of familiarity and provocation, referencing Hubbard’s history and the personal drama viewers know about. “Is Lindsay the most overrated person on Bravo? Respectfully!” he asked, then pressed further by pointing out how her recent television storyline has revolved around a single relationship. “And I was with you then. It’s been two years!” he added, leaning on the timeline of her breakup to question the freshness of her narrative.

Rapaport objected to what he saw as repetitive plotlines and public obsession with one man, asking bluntly what Hubbard had produced for viewers beyond the breakup material. “Is it time to let it go?” he demanded, then summarized his take on her arc. He argued the show had reduced her to “Carl, Carl and Carl. Hating Carl, hating Carl’s mom, hating to hug. What else you got, Lindsay? Respectfully! Again respectfully.”

Hubbard didn’t stay quiet. She posted a video reply that turned the heat back on Rapaport and refused to let the jab pass. “Uh-Oh!!!! Old Mother Hubbard didn’t like my last post!!!!!” she wrote, and then addressed Rapaport directly: “Dear, Michael Rapaport, if you want to say something, turn your f—ing comments on,” she said into the camera, following with, “Don’t be a little b—-. You don’t want to do that. If you want to start a media war, happy to go to war with you.”

She framed part of her pushback around age and motherhood, reminding Rapaport of who she is beyond the storyline he criticized. “Did you forget that I had a baby? You think that my only storyline in the last two years has been my ex?” she asked, then promised more context was coming. “OK, maybe keep watching. You’ll see a very long overdue conversation coming up between Carl and I, and you’ll learn a lot. But overrated? I still have a lot more years to come, baby,” she snarked.

Hubbard captioned her response with a sharp note aimed at Rapaport’s identity and tone: “Dear @michaelrapaport I don’t like when old white men pick on younger women. Get a life brother.” That line reframed the exchange as not just a critique of content but as a clash of generations and perspectives, which only escalated the online back-and-forth. Rapaport’s caption and tone had already suggested he knew the take would land provocatively.

Rapaport and his wife Kebe Dunn then recorded follow-ups that mixed comedy, regret and defensive asides. Dunn reminded Rapaport that she didn’t want him to post the original clip and pushed back on how the situation unfolded. When Rapaport insisted, “I know, but I said ‘respectfully,'” Dunn warned, “You had to know she was about to come for you,” and Rapaport answered, “Yeah, but I didn’t know she was a f—ing lunatic. But I don’t know why she had to turn it into a race war?”

The couple tried to soften the tone at times, noting they had framed the comments with “respectfully” and had even called Hubbard a “queen.” Dunn chimed in with practical perspective: “Don’t be scared, babe, she’s a mom,” while Rapaport added, “A single mom, who’s turning 40!” when commenting on Hubbard’s age. The dynamic felt part off-the-cuff comedy and part damage control as they navigated the fallout.

At one point Dunn told Rapaport to dial it back with a direct “Shut up! Stop talking about this girl. Just stop!” but they also shrugged at the misstep and tried to steer things toward humor. Dunn quipped about the show’s audience mix: “It’s old White men like you, babe,” and added to the camera, “Lindsay, I told him not to say s—, K, girl, but we’re huge fans. I don’t know why he said ‘overrated.'” Those moments kept the exchange from turning purely hostile and reminded viewers how quickly reality TV commentary can blur into playful provocation.

The videos wrapped with Rapaport signaling no real malice and even a gesture toward reconciliation, ending by wishing Hubbard a happy 40th birthday and offering to send flowers. He closed one clip with a light-hearted caption: Let’s HUG it out HUBBZZZ lmao. We’re fans!!!! The episode is a textbook example of modern reality-TV culture wars, where a single Instagram clip can become a full-blown media moment overnight.
