A Miami woman, Charlotte Regina Butler, 65, has been accused of stealing $24,000 from her mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Butler had been serving as her mother’s primary caregiver since 2018 and had access to her mother’s bank account.

According to an arrest report, Butler made frequent cash withdrawals from her mother’s account at local casinos, often on a weekly basis. The report also stated that Butler and her daughter were living in the victim’s home without paying rent, utilities, or cable.
Butler was arrested and booked into jail, with a bond set at $5,000. She has been ordered to stay away from her mother.
