In Jackson, Wyoming, Melchor Dylan Moore has announced his candidacy for one of the three open seats on the Teton County Board of County Commissioners. Moore, a Republican, previously ran in 2024 and is now emphasizing the importance of diverse political viewpoints in local governance.
Moore’s platform centers on private property rights, responsible budgeting, and fiscal accountability. He is also committed to preserving agriculture, ranching, tourism, and small businesses in the county. In his campaign announcement, Moore stated, “Teton County deserves a county government that listens to all residents, including those whose views are not currently reflected in local politics.”
Moore highlighted the need for a government that represents everyone, from lifelong ranching families to small business owners and newcomers. He expressed concern over increasing political polarization and aims to focus on practical solutions rather than ideological divisions. “There was a time when people in Jackson could disagree politically and still work together as neighbors,” Moore said. “My campaign is about restoring respect, protecting local voices, and ensuring county government remains focused on practical solutions.”
During the 2024 election cycle, it was revealed that Moore had a few legal issues in the past. Despite this, he remains focused on his campaign goals and the future of Teton County.
Other candidates for the three open seats include Democrats Dr. Brent Blue, Karyn Chin, and Ali Dunford, as well as incumbents Wes Gardner, Mark Newcomb, and Luther Propst. Republican Vicky O’Donoghue is also in the race.
