Note: Featured animals sometimes find homes quickly. If you see a pet you love, check availability before making plans.
The Humane Society of North Texas focuses on pairing pets with the right families, one adoption at a time. Pets are available at HSNT’s Fort Worth and Keller centers, and many are also showcased at off-site adoption events held six days a week. Visit HSNT.org for locations, hours and event schedules.
Among the animals currently waiting for homes is Merlin, a 1-year-old Border Collie mix whose temperament surprises those who expect a nonstop herding dog. Merlin prefers quiet companionship and close contact — he’s the kind of dog who will happily curl up beside you and enjoy gentle attention rather than constant activity. His calm, loyal nature makes him a great fit for someone seeking a steady canine companion.
At the other end of the spectrum is Cream, a 4-month-old Heeler mix bursting with puppy energy. Curious, playful and always ready to explore, Cream will do best in a home that offers structure, training and plenty of outlets for her enthusiasm. She’s an ideal match for a family or active owner prepared to invest time in socialization and play.
Merlin and Cream illustrate the wide variety of temperaments and ages available through adoption — whether you want a calm companion or a lively pup to grow with, there are animals ready to become part of your life. Adoption fees vary based on age, size, length of stay and other factors; full details and expectations for the adoption process are available at HSNT.org. You can also follow HSNT on social media to see more animals in need of homes.
