Kathryn is a quiet, soft-spoken employee that you’ll often find greeting you behind the counter at The Golden Scoop in Overland Park, Kansas. She has been working at The Golden Scoop for nearly two years and has been loving it ever since. In a recent interview, Kathryn shared her experience working at The Golden Scoop.

Working at The Golden Scoop

Kathryn said she asked her neighbor if The Golden Scoop would hire her, and they thought she would be good at it. She has been going to school, doing family stuff, and hanging out with her boyfriend. Now, it’s fun for her to work every week. She trained at the other location and then started at 103rd as soon as it opened.

Kathryn loves her job and enjoys helping customers. She also likes her coworkers, including Anastasia, Bob, Barb, and Jenna. Her average day includes making ice cream, scooping ice cream into cups, taking orders, serving customers, and running the cash register. She also helps with catering and warehouse tasks and cleans the store.

One of the fun things Kathryn has done at work is working the drive-thru and participating in the golf tournament. When asked why someone should work at The Golden Scoop, Kathryn said, ‘It’s the best job ever!’

The Golden Scoop has two locations in Overland Park, Kansas: 9540 Nall Avenue and 10460 W 103rd Street. The store is open from 8am-7pm, Tuesday through Saturday, and 9am-5pm on Sundays at the 103rd location and 1pm-5pm at the 95th location.
