McKinney Clinic Expands

CommonGood Medical, a faith-based clinic in McKinney, is relocating to a larger facility to accommodate growing demand for its services. The clinic, which offers free primary medical care to eligible uninsured and low-income Collin County residents, has seen significant growth since its founding in 2016.

Meeting the Community’s Needs

According to Daniel Moreno, Director of Development at CommonGood Medical, the clinic’s mission is to provide accessibility to individuals who lack access to healthcare in Collin County. “We are all surrounded by a central mission of providing accessibility to individuals that, to be frank, just don’t have that kind of accessibility in Collin County,” Moreno said. “There’s a gap, and we fill that gap.” The clinic has registered over 4,000 unique patients since opening and has seen more than 1,000 unduplicated patients in 2025.

The new clinic space, slated to open in fall 2026, will span about 9,000 square feet and include six exam rooms, as well as dedicated spaces for lab draws, provider and volunteer workstations, and more. The clinic will also offer free lab testing for patients through a partnership with Quest Diagnostics. Additionally, the clinic will feature an on-site imaging center, which will offer mammograms, X-rays, and sonography, with proceeds supporting care for the clinic’s patients.

CommonGood Thrift Store

CommonGood Medical is also launching a social enterprise arm, CommonGood Thrift, which will be located in McKinney. The thrift store will accept donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, household items, kitchenware, toys, books, baby items, and sports gear. The store will provide an opportunity for volunteers to serve the organization and engage with the community. “To take your junk and not just put it in the trash, but to be able to give it to an organization, to give us the opportunity to sell it, to then turn that into patient care,” Moreno said.

The clinic welcomes all patients, regardless of religious affiliation, and looks to build relationships with them. “We share the practical love of Jesus by providing quality, compassionate care,” Moreno said. “We live out our faith through both word and deed.” CommonGood Medical accepts support through monetary donations, as well as donations of items to CommonGood Thrift. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
