A traffic cone signed by Glasgow’s head of commerce has arrived in Massachusetts. The cone, borrowed from the streets of Glasgow, arrived Monday and is going to be officially received by Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu at a ceremony.
The commemorative cone gained social media fame as a symbol of the “Tartan Army’s” Boston takeover during the 2026 World Cup. Healey and Wu have been invited to sign the cone to cement a proposed twin city partnership between Boston and Glasgow.
The Scottish flag will also be raised inside Logan Airport’s Hall of Flags. This event marks a significant moment in the friendship between the two cities.
