Mariska Hargitay to Host 2026 Emmy Awards

Mariska Hargitay, star of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, has been named host of the 78th Emmy Awards, which will air on NBC and Peacock on September 14. This marks the first time a woman has hosted the Emmys in 15 years, following Jane Lynch in 2011.

Hargitay, 62, has been a part of the “Law & Order” franchise for 27 seasons, playing the role of Olivia Benson. She has won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and has been nominated eight times for her role as Benson.

The Emmy Awards will be held at the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE, with nominations announced on Wednesday. Hargitay’s hosting gig is part of NBC’s 100th anniversary celebration.
