Marion County Fire Rescue responded to a late-night water rescue on the Silver River just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. A boat carrying four occupants began taking on water while attempting to dock near Ray Wayside Park.
The vessel drifted away from the boat launch as water rapidly filled the boat. Marion County Fire Rescue located the disabled vessel filled with water. The four occupants had safely made it to the shoreline approximately a quarter-mile downstream from the boat launch.
"A great outcome thanks to the quick response and teamwork of our crews," Marion County Fire Rescue said.
