A boat crash occurred late Thursday night in Marblehead, Massachusetts, resulting in injuries to five people. The Marblehead Fire Department reported that the incident happened at State Street Landing, where a vessel had crashed and come to rest atop Grays Rock.
Two occupants were rescued from the water by the Marblehead, Salem, and Beverly Harbormasters, who were already on the scene. The rescued individuals were taken to State Street Landing and then transferred to ambulances for evaluation and transport.
Marblehead firefighters and the Salem Harbormaster entered the water to find additional injured victims outside the boat on Grays Rock. One person was safely secured by firefighters and transferred to the Marblehead Harbormaster boat, where emergency medical care was initiated while en route back to State Street Landing.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown, and there is no update on the victims’ conditions. The Marblehead Fire Department expressed appreciation for the coordinated response from all agencies involved, including the Harbormasters, U.S. Coast Guard, Marblehead Police, Beauport Ambulance, and 911 dispatchers.
