Man injured in early‑morning shooting on Poplar Street in Montgomery

Montgomery police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning on Poplar Street, leaving a man with a life‑threatening gunshot wound.

At approximately 2:46 a.m., officers and Montgomery Fire/Rescue were dispatched to the 2600 block of Poplar Street after a call reported a person had been shot. Upon arrival, first responders found a male victim who had sustained a serious gunshot injury. Emergency personnel provided immediate medical care on scene before transporting the man to a local hospital for further treatment.
