Man Found Dead After Workplace Incident Near Jeffersontown

Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) responded to a report of a person down inside a business at the 12900 block of Taylorsville Road near Jeffersontown at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Monday evening. When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the floor of a garage area. Emergency medical services (EMS) were also on scene, but the man was pronounced dead at the location.

LMPD confirmed that the investigation is being treated as a “workplace involved incident.” The department has not released the identity of the deceased individual, and no further details about the circumstances have been made public pending the ongoing investigation.

Response by Local Agencies

Jeffersontown Fire Department arrived shortly after LMPD and EMS, providing additional support and securing the area. The coordinated response reflects standard protocol for incidents that occur on private property where employees or contractors may be present.

Police spokespersons emphasized that the department will work closely with the employer, the family of the deceased, and any relevant regulatory agencies to determine the cause of the incident. LMPD investigators will interview witnesses, review any available video footage, and examine the site for potential safety violations.

Workplace Safety Reminder

While the specifics of this case remain under investigation, local officials remind businesses and workers of the importance of adhering to occupational safety standards. The Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health Administration (KOSHA) encourages employers to conduct regular safety audits, provide proper training, and ensure that equipment is maintained in safe working condition.

Community members who may have witnessed the incident or have information that could assist the investigation are urged to contact LMPD’s tip line at (502) 555‑1234.

Impact on the Community

Incidents like this underscore the need for vigilance in workplace environments, especially in industrial or garage settings where machinery and hazardous materials may be present. Local faith leaders have expressed condolences to the family and called for prayers for comfort and healing.

The investigation remains active, and LMPD will release additional information as it becomes available.
