In a recent development, Alexis M. Nordelo, 32, has entered a pretrial diversion program following his arrest at Trump National Doral Golf Club during a PGA Tour event. The Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts Office confirmed Nordelo’s agreement to the program, which includes anger management and a six-month ban from the golf club.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on May 2, when Doral Police responded to a U.S. Secret Service checkpoint at the golf club. Nordelo, reportedly irate and uncooperative during a security screening, allegedly made physical contact with a Secret Service agent, leading to his detention.
According to the police report, Nordelo’s behavior escalated as officers attempted to escort him off the property. He was described as belligerent, intoxicated, and irrational, refusing to walk and dropping his body weight to the ground. Officers had to carry him onto a golf cart, where he threatened to fall off intentionally once it started moving.
Legal Proceedings
Nordelo faced charges of disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and resisting an officer without violence. His disruptive behavior continued during transport to the Turner Gilford Knight Correctional Center, where corrections staff initially refused to accept him. He was taken to Jackson West Medical Center for medical clearance before being processed at the corrections center.
The Secret Service clarified that President Donald Trump was not present at the golf club during the incident, although he attended the final round of the Cadillac Championship the following day.
