A 66-year-old man, Jonathan Blake Sr., is accused of assaulting deputies at the Natrona County Detention Center in Casper, Wyoming. According to the affidavit, Blake allegedly whipped a towel soaked with urine and feces at the deputies and kicked one in the face as they tried to control him.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on August 1, when deputies gathered around Blake’s cell to move him so they could decontaminate the cell, which he had allegedly flooded repeatedly. As soon as the cell door opened, Blake allegedly delivered 4-5 strikes with the feces, urine, and toilet water-soaked towel at the deputy’s face.
Deputies moved in to try and gain control of Blake, but he reportedly fought them, ripping out three taser probes and kicking a deputy in the face. Blake was eventually handcuffed and transported to the hospital for treatment of a gash on his head.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Blaine Nelson described the incident as a ‘methodical and intentional trap’ set by Blake for the deputies. Blake is facing four counts of felony assault on a corrections officer, one count of causing bodily injury to an officer, and three counts of misdemeanor interference.
