Mail Carrier Seriously Injured in Fulton County Vehicle Collision

A serious vehicle collision in Fulton County, Ohio, has left a local mail carrier with significant injuries. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is currently investigating the incident, which occurred on Friday morning.

According to authorities, the crash involved a 33-year-old woman from Delta who was delivering mail in a 1987 Chevrolet USPS delivery truck. She was traveling westbound on County Road K near County Road 6-1 in Fulton Township when the accident happened.

A 57-year-old man, also from Delta, attempted to pass the mail delivery vehicle while traveling in the same direction. During the maneuver, the two vehicles collided, causing the mail carrier’s truck to veer off the left side of the roadway and overturn. The impact ejected the mail carrier from her vehicle, resulting in serious injuries.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured mail carrier was airlifted by Life Flight to a hospital in Toledo for treatment. The other driver involved in the crash sustained possible minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The OSHP has stated that drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash, and no charges have been filed at this time. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.

Safety Reminder for Motorists

As the summer season begins, the Ohio State Highway Patrol has issued a reminder to all motorists about the importance of safe driving practices. The period known as the “100 deadliest days of summer” is a time when traffic accidents tend to increase. OSHP encourages drivers to remain vigilant, practice defensive driving, and take simple safety measures such as wearing seat belts, avoiding distractions like cellphones, and designating sober drivers.
