Kuechly averaged 157 tackles a season for his entire eight years in the NFL, winning the 2012 Defensive Rookie of the Year award and being named to seven straight All-Pro teams. He also had 18 career interceptions, 7 forced fumbles, 12.5 sacks, and a whopping 75 tackles for a loss.
Kuechly’s football IQ and ability to read the game set him apart from other players. He could see the protection in front of him, recall what he’d seen on film, and cut through the noise of the moment to give the right call. This allowed him to make highlight-reel interceptions and stop the run with ease.
