Luigi Mangione’s Federal Case Hearing Scheduled

Luigi Mangione, the 28-year-old accused in the December 2024 fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is scheduled to appear in court Friday for a federal case hearing. The hearing comes after Mangione appeared in state court on Tuesday, which is expected to be his last appearance before his trial next month.

The federal case against Mangione, in which he has pleaded not guilty to federal stalking charges, is set to go to trial in January 2027. In June, it was reported that Mangione’s attorneys had discussed a potential plea deal with federal prosecutors, but none was reached.
