Luigi Mangione, the 28-year-old accused of killing UnitedHealthcare’s chief executive, had his attorneys discuss a potential plea deal with prosecutors, according to a source familiar with the discussions.
Mangione faces two federal stalking charges for allegedly stalking the CEO online and traveling across state lines to carry out the killing. The charges carry a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without parole.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is due to appear in federal court on Monday to discuss juror questionnaires and jury selection.
