Louisville Metro ABC has announced new safety measures for the Atomic bar to follow in order to reopen. The bar was ordered to close earlier and add more security personnel after multiple fights escalated into shootings on Bardstown Road.
New Safety Requirements
Atomic will now have to close at 3:30 a.m. with last call at 3:15 a.m. The last guests will be allowed in at 2:15 a.m. The bar must also employ three off-duty LMPD officers on Saturday nights and high-attendance Fridays. Additionally, LMPD will have real-time access to Atomic’s security cameras.
The penalty process for Atomic has been put on hold as the bar complies with the new measures. Atomic’s liquor license was suspended on June 23 after the incidents on Bardstown Road. The bar has asserted that the incidents did not involve its customers.
