The Logan Square Farmers Market has moved to its permanent home in the heart of the neighborhood and is settling in well. Thousands of people visited the market on a recent Sunday despite turbulent weather.
A New Home
The market, which has been named the best in the city for seven years in a row, has brought over 80,000 visitors to the square since debuting in its new home. Vendors and shoppers alike are praising the new location for its communal and accessible experience.
Ashlee Roffe, a regular visitor to the market, said, “I think it’s way better, because you can shop and come back easily. You also can compare the fruits and vegetables a little bit more.”
Vendors See Increased Sales
Kyle Washington, founder of Frogtown Juice Co., has seen higher sales than in previous years. He attributes his success to the increased vendor visibility and shopper flow in the new location.
Other vendors, such as Kevin Gorman of Gorman Farm Fresh Produce, have also reported increased visibility and separation between farmers and indie vintage vendors. Camila Forero, a vintage vendor, praised the square’s redesign and market footprint, saying it’s now more walkable and shoppable.
