Locust Point Bridge Gets Colorful Makeover

A bridge in Locust Point that spans Key Highway and connects the 900 and 1000 blocks of E. Fort Ave. has received a colorful makeover and new ‘Locust Point’ signage as part of an ongoing neighborhood beautification effort led by the Locust Point Civic Association (LPCA).

Community Effort

The project serves as a continuation of LPCA’s street banner initiative and is intended to create a more welcoming gateway into the neighborhood. The bridge was painted on both sides along the concrete ledges bordering the sidewalks. The design features panels of blue, orange, yellow, and aqua with ‘Locust Point’ displayed in the center. LPCA collaborated with artist and former Locust Point resident Nicole Buchholz on the design. Volunteers helped with the actual painting.
