Local High School Teams Compete in Regional and Sectional Finals

Local high school athletes are gearing up for an exciting day of competition as they participate in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) baseball regional finals and softball sectional finals. These events highlight the dedication and talent of young athletes from various schools in the region.

Baseball Regional Finals

In Division 1 baseball, Appleton North will face Bay Port, while West De Pere takes on Hortonville. Other matchups include Appleton West at Kaukauna, Pulaski at Kimberly, Menasha at Fond du Lac, and Hartford at Neenah. These games promise to be thrilling as teams vie for a spot in the next stage of the competition.

Softball Sectional Finals

Softball teams are also in action, with Green Bay Preble facing Stevens Point at Plover and Appleton North competing against Kimberly at Kaukauna in Division 1. In Division 2, Fox Valley Lutheran will play Denmark at Plymouth. Division 3 sees Wittenberg-Birnamwood against New Holstein at Wrightstown, and in Division 4, Algoma will compete against Johnson Creek at Johnson Creek.

Soccer and Tennis Competitions

Soccer teams are also in the spotlight, with several Division 3 and Division 4 matches scheduled. Notable games include Roncalli/Two Rivers at Kiel and Denmark at Waupun. Meanwhile, the boys’ individual state tennis tournament is taking place at the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, with players from Notre Dame, Neenah, West De Pere, Kimberly, and Appleton North competing in both singles and doubles matches.
