Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) has charged five individuals, including a minor, in connection with a string of vehicle break-ins targeting work trucks parked at local hotels. The investigation began after a recent surge in vehicle break-ins and thefts, with suspects believed to have specifically targeted work trucks in hopes of finding firearms inside.
Investigation and Arrests
As part of the investigation, LMPD executed two search warrants, recovering multiple firearms, including several that had been reported stolen. Among the suspects are two convicted felons who are prohibited from possessing firearms. The four adults and one minor are now facing multiple charges, including receiving stolen property, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, criminal mischief, and fleeing or evading police.
The suspects identified by police include Deonco Taylor, Lavante Edison, and Curtis Allan. A fourth adult and the minor were also arrested but have not been publicly identified.
