Water customers in southwest Shreveport may experience low water pressure due to damage to one of the city’s booster stations. A lightning strike damaged the Inner Loop booster station during a thunderstorm on Friday night.
Repairs Underway
City officials have brought in local and regional contractors to assist with repairs. The Water & Sewerage Department crews are working around the clock to restore service. The city is also exploring alternative operational measures to help stabilize and levelize water pressure throughout the affected area while repairs are underway.
Brandon R. Snead, Water & Sewerage Department interim director, stated, ‘We understand the inconvenience this situation creates for our residents and businesses, and we want the public to know that restoring service is our top priority.’ There is no estimated timeline for full restoration, and the city will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
