A lightning strike during Monday night’s storms has severely damaged the electrical system at the Claiborne Parish Courthouse in Homer, Louisiana. The judge’s office and all other offices located inside the courthouse are closed indefinitely until damage can be assessed and repairs made.
The Claiborne Parish Police Jury expressed appreciation to Homer Fire Chief Tommy Sanders and his volunteers for their quick action, which prevented catastrophic damage to the historic landmark. Anyone who has business with the judge’s office should call (318) 624-4707, as the regular phone number is inoperable due to the damage.
