Lexington Man Wins $100K Lottery Prize on Return from Cincinnati Airport

In a heartwarming turn of events, Frank Arrazola, a resident of Lexington, Kentucky, experienced a life-changing moment on his way back from Cincinnati’s CVG Airport. Arrazola, who had stopped at the Anniston Mini Mart in Lexington for gas, ended up purchasing a lottery ticket that won him a $100,000 prize.

A Fortunate Stop

Arrazola recounted his story to the Kentucky Lottery, explaining how a simple stop for gas turned into an unexpected blessing. After paying with a $20 bill, he received $5.47 in change. Unsure of what to do with the remaining five dollars, the cashier suggested purchasing a lottery ticket, even pointing out the ones she believed were lucky. Arrazola took her advice and scratched off the ticket in the car while his co-worker drove them home.

To his amazement, Arrazola discovered he had matched the number 2, revealing a $100,000 prize. Excited and in disbelief, he asked his friend to turn the car around and head back to the store to confirm the win. The store’s machine verified the ticket, and the cashier shared in the excitement of Arrazola’s first-ever lottery play resulting in such a significant win.

Plans for the Winnings

Before moving to the United States, Arrazola played professional soccer in Honduras. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunities he has found in the U.S. and plans to use a portion of his winnings to support education in his home country. “This win is a blessing, and it will help us keep building our story,” Arrazola stated, emphasizing his desire to invest in education and assist his family.

After taxes, Arrazola took home $72,500. The Anniston Mini Mart, where the winning ticket was sold, will receive a $1,000 bonus for their role in the fortunate event.
