A new cocktail bar, Neat, has opened in Lenexa, bringing a fresh experience to the area. The bar is located in the former Savoy Tea Co. space at Lenexa City Center and is owned by Samir Shura, Dipti Bhakta, and Benjamin Davalos.
A Unique Concept
The trio has created a space that is both polished and approachable, with a ‘vintage modern’ style that invites customers to feel at home. The bar program, led by Davalos, features a menu shaped by his personal experiences, including travel and conversations with people he has met behind the bar.
One of the standout drinks is the ‘Gun for Hire’, an espresso martini-meets-old fashioned style cocktail that reminds Davalos of his early days behind the bar. Another popular drink is the ‘Dolce Vita’, which pulls from Davalos’ travels in Italy and France and features an ‘almond-and-orange creamsicle’ flavor.
A Community-Focused Approach
The owners of Neat are committed to serving the local community and have been met with enthusiasm from the surrounding area. Bhakta handles PR and community-facing work, while Shura oversees the business side, and Davalos leads the bar program. The trio has long discussed and scouted potential locations for their concept and ultimately found that there wasn’t anything quite like it in Lenexa.
According to Shura, customers are excited to have a high-end cocktail experience in Johnson County without having to leave Lenexa. The owners are thrilled to be able to give customers what they’ve been looking for and are committed to serving the community.
