Laurel Highlands continued its impressive golf season on Friday, sweeping multiple honors at the Fayette County Coaches Association (FCCA) Tournament held at Duck Hollow Golf Club in Fayette County.
Individual champions
Senior Kayden Smith captured the boys individual championship by posting a 1‑under‑par 69. Smith birdied the second and eighth holes on the front nine for a 2‑under‑par 33, added birdies on the 12th and 15th, and finished with a solid par on the 18th after a missed birdie putt.
In the girls division, ninth‑grader Sydney Glover of Laurel Highlands shared the title with Southmoreland senior Kendall Campbell, both carding an 86. Glover, who competes on the boys squad because Laurel Highlands does not field a girls team, praised the experience of playing a full 18‑hole round during summer tournaments.
Team results
The Mustangs earned the boys Class 3A team championship with a combined score of 394, outpacing the nearest competitors, including Connellsville’s Wade Bryner and Geibel Catholic’s John Hess, who tied for second at 416.
Frazier secured the Class 2A boys team title with a score of 416, while Belle Vernon took the girls team title with a total of 409.
Other notable performances
Smith’s victory followed a strong showing last year, when he finished third in the FCCA tournament at the same venue. His familiarity with Duck Hollow – having played the course during the Fayette County Open and regular home matches at Albert Gallatin – gave him a strategic edge, especially on the challenging par‑3 14 and 17 holes.
Senior Campbell, who placed second in the previous year’s FCCA tournament, said she was pleased with her short‑game and putting, which helped her repeat an 86 score.
Among the top‑ten finishers, Albert Gallatin’s Tyler Felio and Gianni Paoli, as well as Southmoreland’s Brock Pritts, tied for sixth with rounds of 80. The Colonials’ Garrett Snyder and Frazier’s Garrett Seich shared ninth place with 81.

Beyond the champions, the Mustangs fielded a strong top five: Cole Dempsey (82), Ryan Revak (82) and Damon Revak (83) rounded out the team’s scoring leaders.
Glover highlighted the benefit of competing with the boys squad, noting that the daily competition pushes her to improve her short game and mental stamina.
