Las Cruces has plenty to celebrate this week, with two young local achievers earning statewide and national recognition for their talents and accomplishments.
A Las Cruces teenager has been crowned Miss New Mexico’s Teen 2026, earning the right to represent the state at the Miss America’s Teen pageant on the national stage. The honor puts a local young woman in the spotlight as an ambassador for New Mexico, and the entire community can take pride in cheering her on as she heads to the national competition.
Adding to the good news, a Las Cruces graduate is also heading to the prestigious Jimmy Awards — the National High School Musical Theatre Awards held in New York City — after winning the title of New Mexico’s best actress. The Jimmy Awards bring together top student performers from across the country, and this Las Cruces grad earned her spot through outstanding achievement recognized at the state level.
Together, these two stories are a reminder of the remarkable young talent growing up right here in Las Cruces. From the pageant stage to the Broadway-style spotlight, Las Cruces students are making their mark — and making their community proud.
