The Laramie County Detention Center in Wyoming may soon be featured on a reality TV show. The Sheriff’s Office has been in discussion with a TV network over a behind-the-scenes project, according to Wyoming News Now.
Reality TV Show
The show, called ‘120 Hours Behind Bars,’ aims to provide an unfiltered look inside America’s toughest jails. The program proposed for Wyoming would show how the Laramie County Detention Center operates.
Sheriff Kozak stated that he has been approached by several producers with various ideas for shows, but he likes this one because it shows the humanistic side of the jail. Inmates do not have to participate in the show if they do not want to.
The decision to approve the show will be made by the county commissioners. If approved, the 50-minute episode will be available on streaming platforms such as HBO MAX, Discovery Go!, and Hulu.
In other news, old jailhouses can still be found in some Wyoming towns. For example, in Gillette, the old jailhouse is located on a back street in downtown. In Clearmont, a tiny, old, two-cell jail stands next to a swing set in the town park.
