Los Angeles officials have declined to file criminal charges against Alaric Jackson, an offensive lineman for the LA Rams, who was arrested last month for possible domestic battery.
Jackson was arrested at around 11 p.m. on June 8 after police responded to a call at his San Fernando Valley home. The responding officers learned that Jackson and a woman had gotten into a verbal argument. The woman had scratch marks on her arms, according to investigators.
After a month of investigation, the LA City Attorney’s Office told NBC Los Angeles that it does not have a criminal case filed against Jackson, although it’s not closing the file just yet. City officials are planning to give Jackson other options, such as attending a class, paying restitution, or performing community service, instead of being charged with a crime.
Jackson, a 27-year-old six-year veteran, played for the Iowa Hawkeyes in college. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent, signing with the Rams in May 2021. Jackson was suspended by the league for two games in 2024 for violation of its personal conduct policy.
