Kroger offers the lowest overall prices on everyday grocery staples among four major supermarket chains, according to a new comparison study. The study, conducted by Restaurant Furniture Plus, compared the prices of 15 store-brand grocery items across Kroger, Walmart, Aldi, and Albertsons.

Researchers found Kroger had the least expensive overall shopping basket at $30, followed by Walmart at $30.95, Aldi at $33.15, and Albertsons at $35.58. Kroger also posted the lowest prices on 10 of the 15 items analyzed, the most of any retailer in the study.
Among the products where Kroger led were store-brand items such as whole milk, eggs, and bread. Walmart ranked second overall and offered the lowest prices on three products, including peanut butter and pasta sauce. Aldi finished third and posted the lowest price on two products, including a gallon of whole milk for $3.05.
